Seven Sundays

Directed by the one and only Cathy Garcia-Molina, Seven Sundays is about a widowed father who only has seven weeks to live as he had been diagnosed with cancer. Because of this, his four children come together in their family home to be there for their father’s remaining days—but this doesn’t come with no conflicts. As the film explores the complexity of family dynamics and the true meaning of love and sacrifice, the Filipino youth will learn more about valuing familial relationships, resolving misunderstandings and disagreements with empathy, and the importance of spending time with loved ones before it’s too late.

As a young Filipina girl, there are bound to be moments when you feel misunderstood, wronged, and silenced by your own family, but Seven Sundays is a reminder that open communication, forgiveness, and compassion are the key to a lasting and loving relationship. These can bridge even the widest gaps, helping us grow closer to those who matter the most.
