What is Puberty for Girls?
Timing varies, but changes typically occur in the same order
As we learn more about the ways of life as we get older, there is one aspect about ourselves that we cannot avoid: puberty. While this can cause some confusion and maybe even fear, feeling nervous about change is normal!
To not be completely blindsided and clueless about the process, Ate is here to guide you. Depending on your body, some are affected more than others considering the cycle of estrogen and progesterone in their bodies.
Every Body’s a Beauty
There’s no such thing as an “ideal” body shape, regardless of what some may try to tell you.
Every body is beautiful
Bodies come in all different shapes and sizes.
That’s part of what makes each of us unique. It’s important to know that there isn’t an “average” or “typical” body.

Go with the Flow
A period is a release of blood from a girl’s uterus, out through her vagina. It is a sign that she is getting close to the end of puberty. It also means that she can get pregnant if she has sex.
There is a lot to learn about periods. Here are answers to some common questions.

Down There Care 101
One of the things that girls become conscious about when they reach puberty is the way they smell. Feeling this way is normal, especially since puberty is when the body goes through so many changes. To ease those worries, let’s learn more about vaginal care.
There are many items available in the market that claim to make “down there” smell better, especially when a girl is on their period.

Acne Talk, No Filter
Pimples are par for the course during the teen years, thanks to hormonal changes that increase the skin’s oil production during puberty. When that oil mixes with dead skin cells, it clogs pores and traps bacteria inside. Then, poof! Here comes a pimple. But don’t worry! Acne is a natural part of growing up, and almost everyone experiences it. With good skincare and a positive attitude, they’ll eventually fade away.

If there’s anything to truly keep in mind—and this is easier said than done—it’s to NEVER compare yourself to other girls. You will definitely come across peers who look “more mature” than you—girls who have their personal styles and self-expression figured out. That doesn’t mean you should rush your own process of self-discovery because what works for them might not work for you! It’s common for young girls to want to grow up, but it’s important to remember you’ll eventually reach that stage in your life where you’re confident in your own skin and your own unique vibe! It makes me sad when I see younger girls try to appear like a grown-up because, believe me, there’s so much beauty in embracing the season you’re in right now. You have your whole life ahead to explore different styles, experiment, and evolve—so enjoy this chapter without feeling pressured to skip ahead.
