One of the things that girls become conscious about when they reach puberty is the way they smell. Feeling this way is normal, especially since puberty is when the body goes through so many changes. To ease those worries, let’s learn more about vaginal care.

Is “Down There” an Issue?
There are many items available in the market that claim to make “down there” smell better, especially when a girl is on their period. With these kinds of products existing, a lot of girls wonder which among douches or wipes should they be using to make them feel cleaner and fresher.
The answer is none! When everything’s normal, no one can smell anything. Unless you have an infection like bacterial vaginosis, there may be a fishy smell, but still not enough to warrant other people’s attention. As long as you change your pads/tampons frequently, bathe daily, and wear clean clothes, you smell fine.
Douches, Wipes, or Feminine Sprays?

Again, products that claim to make the vaginal area smell fresh and clean are actually doing more harm than good for your body. This causes douching—essentially meaning washing out the vagina. When you douche, you risk the possibility of an allergic reaction, irritation, and infections. Any external chemicals applied to the area is not welcome as the vagina has its own cleaning system that flushes out bacteria. It doesn’t need further assistance! Even perfumed sprays don’t actually help, but only cover up the smell for a short period of time if there is a bad smell due to an infection.
Maintaining a clean vagina without making it smell like a flower shop is simple. You merely need to shower or wash every day with a gentle soap and plenty of warm water. To ease the pain of their periods, some women choose to take warm baths.
Staying Fresh
Wearing cotton underwear, especially in hot weather, can help you feel fresher since cotton and other natural fibers are more breathable.
If you live somewhere warm, wearing cotton underwear may help make you feel fresh and clean because of its breathable fabric. Keep a spare pair of underwear with you when you’re out just in case you need to change into them when an accident (tagos) happens. Of course, don’t forget to have extra pads/tampons with you.
